The Academy for Mathematics & Science is an internationally proven tutorial and enrichment program, with over 25 years of experience in assisting students with Mathematics, Science and Language Arts. At the Academy for Mathematics & Science they assist a wide variety of students, including those who want to maintain good grades, those who need a challenging enrichment program and those who are experiencing problems at school. By helping these students excel as learners, the Academy ensures individuals gain the confidence and skills to succeed at home, school and in their future careers.

Karen approached CBDC Trinity Conception in January 2005 with the idea of starting the first Academy for Mathematics & Science franchise in Atlantic Canada at Bay Robert’s.  With assistance from the Self Employment Benefit (SEB) Program, Karen opened her doors in the Dwyer Building, 245 Conception Bay Highway, Bay Roberts in May 2005. Just over a year later in September 2006, Karen returned to CBDC Trinity Conception with an expansion in mind. With the assistance from CBDC Trinity Conception’s Investment program and a partnership with the Business Development Bank of Canada, Karen Attwood was opening another set of doors to lifelong learning, leadership and personal growth as the mission states. The doors being opened were at a new location for the Academy of Mathematics & Science - Neil’s Pond Plaza in Paradise - on February 24, 2007. Karen says “With the help of the SEB program it relieved a lot of stress knowing I would have some income coming in - this allowed me to focus more on establishing and growing my business.  Tanya was excellent, a great source of information and guidance throughout the process.  Thank you.”
