| Wesley Hawe spent nearly ten years as a crew member in the fishing industry but his dreams and natural skills kept pointing him in the direction of entrepreneurship in the information technology world. So, while still employed seasonally with the fishery, he worked hard to acquire certification as a Computer Support Specialist. In 2005 he finally found the courage to start the self-employment process and started his journey with the CBDC Trinity Conception.
On February 26, 2006 WP Internet was born.
Operating out of Wesley’s home in Bay Roberts, “WP Internet exists to provide fast, reliable technical assistance to local business/small office/home office computer users. WP Internet sells solutions and results!”. Wesley’s vision is to provide fast response, informed expertise and consistently high quality solutions to generate enough satisfied repeat customers to provide a stable retainer base for WP Internet. The long-term objective is to grow the company into a stable and profitable entity that the owner can easily and comfortably manage on his own.
After just a little more than one year in operation, WP Internet is becoming a smashing success! With a client base consisting of individuals and corporations such as government agencies, local small business, automobile dealerships, and an international shipping company, Wesley is now feeling confident enough to move forward with a plan to partner with another local information technology company.
Wesley admits that starting out on his own was a little bit intimidating at first, especially in the area of providing a steady and comfortable living for him and his family. With the help and assistance of the CBDC Trinity Conception, through the Self-Employment Benefit program, Wesley found the confidence to proceed and is thrilled with the results. Of the support he received from the CBDC, Wesley says “It would not have been possible for me to start my own business without the help and support of the CBDC. The staff at the CBDC were genuinely interested in seeing my business succeed.”.
